UNITE HERE Local 5 said Thursday that union workers are striking at HMS Honolulu food service stations at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.
That includes concessions, restaurants, Starbucks, bars, pantry and maintenance facilities, according to a press release.
Local 5 said contract negotiations last week “saw little movement from HMSHost, prompting the workers to move the campaign forward by walking out of their workplaces and joining the picket lines.”

The collective bargaining agreement expired a year ago.
A media inquiry to HMSHost North America’s corporate office was not immediately responded to.
Workers, who authorized the strike last month, “demand the company provide livable wages” and to be covered by the union’s health and welfare plan.
The contract covers over 500 workers who the union said serve nearly 10 million visitors in Hawaii each year.
The strike comes as air traffic is extra busy during the holiday season.
